"Service above Self "

Wallace Funeral Home's professional care does not end with the funeral ceremony.  We realize that often the hardest times follow the funeral once the family and friends have returned to their normal routine.

To assist you in this time of need, we have developed the Sussex and Area Continuing Care Program.  It is offered free of charge to anyone in our area who has suffered a loss.  Lorraine Pollock heads our Continuing Care Team.

To learn more or to participate in any of these programs, please contact Lorraine Pollock at 433-1176.

The Empty Chair Grief Program

This bereavement support group offers a series of six classes four times a year to help you understand and deal with your grief.  You can talk about your feelings, hopes and loss within the comfort and safety of people who understand.  It was developed to assist the person who has experienced a death of a family member or friend to grow and form new relationships without their loved one.   Wallace Funeral Home is the only funeral home in King and Queens County which offers such a bereavement support group.

The holiday season can be a particularly difficult time for those who have recently experienced a death.  Accordingly, Wallace Funeral Home offers two programs to offer comfort and healing through the holidays.

Early in December “The Empty Chair Grief Program” offers a special seminar especially designed for those individuals who are about to experience their first holiday season without their loved one.  We talk about making decisions on how, what, when and where you might want to spend your holiday.

Our "Living Memorial Tree Campaign":  Each light on our "Living Memorial Tree" represents the life of a person who has passed away in the past year.  Families are encouraged to purchase a light in memory of a life they wish to remember during the holiday season, all proceeds are donated to a local charity in the memory of those who have passed away.

The Empty Chair Program - One day there will be an empty chair.
