Marjorie Olive Simpson

 

Marjorie Olive Simpson was born in Lower Millstream on November 23, 1920 , she was the daughter of the late Abram Large and Sarah L. (Goddard) Parlee. You may have known her by Marjorie, Olive or even Sue.  

 

Marjorie is survived by her husband Ernest Simpson; two daughters: Barbara Elderkin of Sussex, Pauline Sawby of Saskatchewan; her sister, Louise Pearl Lockhart of Bathurst, NB; seven grandchildren: Pam Safruk and her husband Todd of Calgary, Alberta, Leslie Beierbach of Okotoks, Alberta and her fiancée Robert Pitcock of Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA, Dale Elderkin and his wife Brenda of Hay River, NWT. Kevin Elderkin and Tamra Simpson of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Samantha Jacksteit and her husband Quinton of  Maple Creek , Saskatchewan, Renee Weimer and her husband Todd of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Jason Sawby and his wife Laura Skrumeda of  Maple Creek. Alberta ; 11 great grandchildren: Trevor, Travis, Chad, Courtney, Lacy, Jamie, Logan, Maverick, Sydney, Trey, Jadon; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 
 
 

Marjorie was predeceased by her daughter, Anita; two sons: Allan and Wayne; two brothers: Nelson and George Parlee; five sisters: Florence Chown, Lulu Eldridge, Mabel Chown, Dorothy (Callahan) McFarlane and Charlotte (Lottie) Parlee and by her brother-in-law, Eldon Lockhart.

 

Marjorie was an active member of the Keirstead Mountain Baptist Church. She was the Church Organist for many years and played throughout the Millstream. She was a former member of the Keirstead Mountain Ladies Aide, a former employee of Wade's General Store in Berwick and Stedman's in Sussex. She never would complain or say a negative comment. Marjorie was a devoted Christian and lived her life with Faith, Hope and Love. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and quilting and many of her family were blessed to have one of her quilts. She had a love for nature, she enjoyed sitting in her chair and watching the different birds that visited her yard, she loved to write and had written many beautiful poems.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm .

The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 2:00 pm.

The interment will take place at Riverbank Cemetery.There will be a time of fellowship with the family at the funeral home following the committal service.
