Pauline Thibodeau

 

Pauline Thibodeau was born in Apohaqui on January 9, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Ida (Storey) Floyd. Pauline enjoyed playing the piano, skiing, skating, bird watching, walking, cross country skiing, quilting and singing in the Sussex Choral Society.

 

She was also a member of St. John's United Church and through out her working career she was employed at Kings County beverage, J.C. Clark and Sons, DOT and the Sussex Health Centre where she retired from in 1989. Pauline was a stenographer for Murray & Gregory Ltd. in Saint John from 1943-1945, later in 1945 she was a stenographer for Wartime Prices and Trade Board for a year. In 1957-59 she was a stenographer for Robertson Irwin Ltd. in Hamilton Ontario. and in 1960 she returned to Sussex where she became a clerk for the unemployment Insurance Commission. Later that year Pauline was a cashier for Crescent Finance Corporation from 1960-61, later she became a stenographer for Seven-Up Sussex, 1961-62, for a short while in 1962 Pauline was a clerk for the Dept. of Public Works.        

 
 
 
Mrs. Ida "Pauline" Thibodeau of Kiwanis Nursing Home formerly of Scenic View Special Care Home and Magnolia Ave. Sussex, passed away at her residence on November 18, 2007 at the age of 81. Pauline is survived by her daughter: Nancy Thompson and her husband Nick of Penobsquis; two sons: Bob Thibodeau and his wife Gina of Fredericton, Paul Thibodeau and his wife Beverly of Hillsborough; 11 grandchildren: Joe, Steve, Rick, Nicole, Krispin, Bobbie, David, Katie, Jamie, Dean and Jeffrey; seven great grandchildren: Nicholas, Kristen, Aidan, Lucas, Leslie, Morgan and Nathan; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by  her husband Eloi Thibodeau; six sisters, Gerna, Viola, Marion, Edie, Pluma and Cora and by five brothers, Sterling, Warren, Stan, Gordon and Frank. Pauline was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Celebration of Pauline's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Wednesday, November 21, 2007  at 10:00am with Rev. Gene Fisher officiating.  The interment will take place at Riverbank Cemetery.
