Verna Maye Murphy 

Mrs. Verna Maye Murphy was born in Ratters Corner on September 20, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Dibblee and Frances (Nickerson) and was the wife of the late George Murphy who passed away in 2004.  

Verna is survived by four daughters: Doris Everett and her husband George of  Oshawa, Ontario, Shirley Adler and her husband George of Etobicoke, Ontario, Dianne Bursey and her husband Gord of Sarnia, Ontario, Sheila McCrea and her husband Jim of Pearsonville, three sons: Preston and Wayne both of Ontario; Donald and his wife Angela of Norton; her son-in-law Lawrence Mercer of Norton; 18 grandchildren: Debbie, Tina, Tony, Raymond, Gordon, Ron, Jody, Charlene, Raymond, Brenda, Lisa, Derek, James, Annette, Samantha, Donna, Robin and Robert;  17 great grandchildren: Ryan, Callie, Logan, Tara, Chris, Jason, Kelsey, Katie, Kirk, Jaimee, Nikki, Axle, Josh, Derrek Jr., Brett, Dyson and Sierra; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Verna Maye Murphy of Kiwanis Nursing Home Sussex and formerly of Pearsonville passed away her residence on October 30, 2007 at the age of 87.

 
 
 

Verna was predeceased by her son, Walter; her daughter, Vivian and two brothers: Clarence and John.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm.

A Celebration of Verna’s life will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Friday November 2, 2007 at 2:00pm with Father Peter Bagley officiating. The interment will take place at St. Phillips Catholic.  

There will be a time of fellowship with the family at the Kierstead Mountain Baptist Church Hall following the Committal Service.

As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Living Memorial would be appreciated by the family.
