Ossie McFarlane

Osla “Ossie” McFarlane was born in St. Andrews, NB on November 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Doris (Ayles) McCullough and was the wife of the late Lloyd Vernon McFarlane who passed away in 2002. Ossie was a former employee of Stedman's Department Store, a member and secretary of the Prince Edward Temple #22 Pythian Sisters, a member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of St. Marks Anglican Church and a member of the ACW.

Mrs. Osla Evelyn McFarlane of Waterford Rd. Dutch Valley passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on April 5, 2008 at the age of 81.

Ossie is survived by three sisters: Joyce Pinkham and her husband Rodney of Holden, Maine, USA, Suella Hooper and her husband Paul of St. Stephen, Maxwella Douglas and her husband Noel of Ilderton, Ontario; her brother Everett McCullough and his wife Lorraine of Saint John, her brother-in -law, Donald E. McFarlane and his wife Phyllis of Rockville, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm.

A Celebration of Ossie’s life will be held from St. Marks Anglican Church on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 11:00 am with Rev. Allen Tapley officiating.

There will be a time of fellowship with the family in the Church Hall immediately following the service.

The interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery in the spring.
