Horace George Reader

Mr. Horace George Reader was born in Bedford on June 25, 1912 , he was the son of the late Roger Wearn and Lily Blanche (Bentley) Reader.

Horace is survived by several special friends. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

 Horace was predeceased by his 2 sisters: Gladys and Queenie, and by his paternal grandparents: Nathaniel and Alice Gorham.

 Horace came to Canada when he was 14 and farmed in Smith Creek until the beginning of WWII. He served in Germany , Italy and France . After the War, Horace came back to help the family. In 1955 we joined Camp Sussex where he was employed as a kitchen aid. In September of 1958, the camp was then moved to Oromocto, where he remained until his retirement in 1977.

 Mr. Horace Reader of Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on February 9, 2008 at the age of 95.

 
 
 

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex , (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00pm .

 The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch  #20 will hold a tribute Monday evening at 6:45pm .

A Celebration of Horace's Life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 11:00am . The interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery .

 As an expression of sympathy donations made to the Heart and Stroke, Extra Mural or to the memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
