Lillian was educated in Chipman and during her
late teens was introduced to Wilfred Wiggins through a
mutual friend...fate was in store as the two were
married on November 26, 1940. They initially set up residence in
Waterborough and in 1941 Wilfred joined the
Air Force and they moved to St. Thomas, Ontario.
During the war years, they also resided in Mont-Joli
and St-Jean, Quebec, until Wilfred was assigned
overseas. Lillian then returned to New Brunswick and
worked in a department store in Saint John, New
Brunswick until Wilfred
returned from his duties during the war.
They
then built a home in Waterborough and welcomed their
daughter, Linda, born August 30, 1947. In the early
fifties, they built and operated the Lil-O-Wil
restaurant located in Waterborough. During this time
they vacationed in Florida through the winter months,
often extending the Wiggins hospitality to family and
friends. They
shared a love of flying, with both receiving their
pilot licenses. Friends would arrive by plane for
weekend visits, always to a warm and friendly
greeting. Food was often the first priority.
Lillian
was a chartered member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #60 and a lifelong
member of the Waterborough Womens Institute.

Many
times Lillian would be found in the kitchen taking the
lead in the planning
and preparation of various events. She was a faithful
member of the Waterborough Baptist Church and served
her community well.
She
was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her
family and many friends.
