Helen was born in Sussex and then moved to Collina with her family, but lived in Sussex all her married life. She attended school until grade 8 at Collina School. Helen liked to crochet and quilt. She also liked to go trout fishing with her husband Roland. She liked skating in her younger years and she also liked board games and puzzles. After her children were grown and gone, she worked a short period doing custodial duties at the school and making pickles at McCready's Plant. She was a homemaker and her main interests were her family and her church. She enjoyed traveling and went to Jerusalem at the age of 78 on a tour. She had a hip replacement at the age of 87 and recovered quickly from that too.
She always pulled for the underdog and had a great sense of humor, enjoyed a good laugh and could laugh at herself. To go along with her great humor, she also loved tulips and crocus around her house. She was known for her dark fruitcake she made each year. She gave one to her pastor for Christmas for many years.
Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is predeceased by three sisters: Emma, Margaret, Grace, five brothers: Richard, Gordon, Ronald, Ralph and Harold; a great grandson Jeff.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Friday evening from 7-9pm .

A Celebration of Helen's life will be held from Calvary Pentecostal on Saturday March 29th, 2008 at 11:00am with Pastor Troy Campbell officiating.  The internment will take place in Roachville Cemetery.
