Roy “Brick” Earl Morton

Mr. Roy Earl Morton of River Rd. Rothesay, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 22, 2010 at the age of 86.

Roy affectionately known as “Brick” was born in Penobsquis on January 15, 1924; he was the son of the late Cecil and Ruth Augusta (McQuinn) Morton both of Penobsquis.

Roy served with the Carleton York Regiment during WWII. He was a retired lineman with NBTel and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20.

Roy and his wife Effie (Brooks) Morton would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in March. He is the father of Richard Morton (Beverley Blagden) of Rothesay, Darlene Ramsay and her husband Raymond and Patricia Foster and her husband Sheldon all of Quispamsis; the grandfather of Adam Morton and his wife Melissa of Edmonton Alberta, Brent Morton of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Joel Foster of the Annapolis Valley NS, Kaitlin Foster of Quispamsis, and Jennifer Ramsay of Kinston Peninsula, his great granddaughter, Joyanna. Roy is also survived by his sister Joan Lisson and her husband Don of Sussex, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Roy was predeceased by four brothers: Eldon, Mike, Darrell "Doc", and Robert, his infant sister Dorothy and by his daughter Heather in 1974.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).

At Roy’s request a private family service will be held in the spring. The interment will take place at Pioneer Cemetery.
