Mr. Robert  Chamberlain
Robert A. “Bob” Chamberlain of Saint John, NB formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 25, 2006 at the age of 81. Born in Quispamsis, NB on June 12, 1925, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Saunders) Chamberlain and the beloved husband of the late Fern (McCain) Chamberlain who passed away in 1996.

Bob is survived by two daughters: Lynn Chamberlain and Bob Dixon of Saint John and Cathy Joudrey and her husband Ralph of Quispamsis; three sons: Bruce and his wife Sally of Quispamsis, Steven and his wife Leona of Shannon and Paul of Saint John; three brothers: Don and his wife Elise of Lakewood, Joe and his wife Lolly of Renforth and Ossie and his wife Mary of Loch Lomond; three sisters: Carol Butler and her husband Frank of Ontario, Betty Saltzman and her husband Doug of Ontario and Ruth Whipple of Saint John; eight grandchildren: Stephanie, Mark, Justin, Jill, Nathan, Melanie, Monica and Kurtis; eight great grandchildren: Andrew, Ryan, Devin, William, Nicole, Kennedy, Campbell and Maya; his brother-in-law, Art Pollock of Quispamsis; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Bob is predeceased by two sisters: Doris Richards and her husband Don, and Willa Pollock; his brother-in-law, Brian Whipple and by his niece Donna Hare.

Bob was a merchant marine at a very young age, he was a professional chef working throughout New Brunswick, and he spent many years working with the Admiral Beatty Hotel and the Holiday Inn in Saint John. In later years, he joined the Canadian Coast Guard and was a member of the Corps. of Commissionaires. He was a current member of the Rothesay Legion and very well known to the members of the Hampton, Sussex and Saint John Legions. Bob was also a member of the R.A.O.B Lodge of Saint John. He possessed an avid interest in wildlife and the outdoors.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). At Robert’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service held.
