Roland Maurice “Sonny” Hicks

Mr. Roland Maurice “Sonny” Hicks of Moncton, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on July 26, 2003 at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 69.

Born in Sackville, NB on August 11, 1933, Roland was the son of the late Harry Roland and Jenny Dora (Snowden) Hicks.

He is survived by Shirley (Cole), his beloved wife of 48 years, his son Bruce of Toronto, his daughter Brenda Knight and her husband Peter of Sackville, Two grandsons; Trevor and Ian Humphrys of Moncton, his brother Reginald and his wife Joyce of Macan, NS, his sister Sharon Lund and her husband Fred of Sackville as well as several nieces and nephews. Sonny was predeceased by an infant daughter, Lori Anne.

Roland returned to Moncton after his retirement as credit manager of Shell Canada (Toronto) for 30 years.He enjoyed Playing Auction 45's and Skip-bo.


Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Sunday 2-4, 7-9pm.

The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Monday, July 28, 2003 at 1:00 pm. With Rev. Jeff Benson officiating With the Interment at Gosline Cemetery at 3:00pm.
