Stewart Winston Luffman

 Stewart Winston Lufffman was born in Bell Island on March 30, 1945; he was the son of the late Ernest and Doris E. (French) Luffman.

Stu attended Saint Boniface Anglican School in Bell Island, NFLD and was very active in basketball and skating. He completed his commercial vocational degree graduating in grade 11 at the age 17.

Later he moved to Wabush, Labrador City to work in Wabush Mines in the accounting department. He married Norma and had a daughter Lori. In 1975, he moved back to Cole Harbour, NS and worked at an auto glass repair centre. In 1976, he moved to Sussex and went to work for Irving Oil as an accountant. There he met an Apohaqui girl and her son David. A new chapter in his life began.

In 1978, Stu began an 18 year career as an accountant for Ports Canada and during those years married Shirley in 1981 and moved to Saint John. In 1989, they moved back to
Sussex and Stu retired for the first time in 1996, the same year his son David and Arron were wed.

The following year was very busy for the Luffmans, Stu was employed with the Province of New Brunswick, they welcomed their son-in-law Adrian Hensler when he married their daughter Lori and the birth of David and Arron’s first son; Anthony Luffman and in 1998 followed by a second child, Jessica.

From 1999-2007 Stu was employed with Dunbar Appliances from where he finally really retired. In 2000 Lori and Adrian brought their son Liam into the Luffman family.

The greatest joy in Stu’s life was his grandchildren, they enriched his life and spirit, he enjoyed his family, hunting, playing cards, partying at the camp sitting in hockey rinks, loaning tools to David and trying to get them back.

Stewart will live on in the hearts of Shirley his beloved wife of 30 years, his son, David Luffman and his wife Arron, his daughter, Lori Hensler and her husband Adrian, his sister, Joan Luffman, his sisters-in-law Carol Luffman and Georgie Keith and her
husband Ernie; three grandchildren: Anthony and Jessica and Liam; as well as several nieces and nephews. Stu is predeceased by his brother Clyde.Mr. Stewart Winston Luffman of Sussex, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on December 19, 2011 at the age of 66.

A Celebration of Stu’s life will be held from Trinity Anglican Church on December 21, 2011 at 10:00am with The Venerable David Barrett officiating.

A private family interment will be held in Evergreen Memorial Park, Aiton Road, Sussex.
