I remember well how Bentley would come into McDonald's everyday for his coffee. I used to love talking with him. I moved away from Sussex 13 years ago, but I always think about him often. My wife and I are expecting our second child together any day now, and we had decided about awhile ago we would name him Bentley. I chose to do this because of the huge impact that Bentley had on me. Rest in peace Bentley, you will be truly missed.

I remember Bentley telling us stories about the older days and stories about my Father,Bill Arnold, working in different lumber camps in Cassidy Lake,Scolos Dam and other places in the area. I was working at St.Paul's United Church at the time and Bentley would come in on Monday mornings and do his receipts of Church envelopes.I really enjoyed the stories and his friendship. We will all remember him fondly.

This is a sad day to hear of Bently's passing, I work at lawtons in the Home Health Care department, and when Bently came in all staff headed in Bently's direction, he was such a great joy to all around him. He will be missed.

Myself and a very good friend worked at McDonalds during high school. (approx 1993-1996) Bentley was our favourite customer. We often wondered if we could date someone as kind and caring as Bentley! I remember him coming behind the counter to give me a birthday hug! He certainly left a lasting impression on us young teenagers. What an example of a truly great person!

We became acquainted with Bentley over 30 years ago when we moved to Sussex. He was such an interesting person and a true gentleman. I worked closely with him at St. Paul's for a few years when he was willing to use the computer for posting church donations. On many occasions he would come in with coffee and a muffin for me. He had such a keen mind and always asked about our grandchildren which showed his love for all little ones. Edgar enjoyed trips to St. Martins and Adair's Wilderness Lodge, always learning some history. We were so pleased to have had a visit with him in Riverview in November and a phone conversation just before Christmas. We will miss him dearly. Barb

Although he wasn't really my uncle, he was my best friends' uncle, and therefore became my uncle too. As a child, I saw a lot of him and felt comfortable calling him Uncle Bentley. I didn't see a lot of him in the last number of years, but will always remember how thoughtful it was of him to call me and congratulate me on the birth of my first grandchild. He will be missed by his family, and I will miss him too.

I used to work at McDonald's as well and always looked forward to seeing Bentley come in. Shortly after my first son was born in '94 there was a knock at my door, when I opened it up there was Bentley with an arrangement of flowers. When my second son was born in 2001, I didn't go back to work, but whenever I saw Bentley around town I always had to stop and talk. He always asked about my kids and said he missed me at McDonald's. Bentley will always hold a special place in my heart and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to get to know him.

I was oh so sad to hear of Bentley's passing. Allen and I both missed him so much when he moved to Riverview. We so greatly enjoyed visiting with him at McDonalds. He was such a joy to be around. We enjoyed his friendly banter and he always asked either one of us where the other was or how we were doing. What a wonderful man he was. He will be greatly missed by all. Just want the family to know we will be keeping you all in our prayers.

I met Bentley while working at Adair's Wilderness Lodge where he would come in just about every Saturday and enjoy their wonderful baked beans and potato scallop. He was interesting to chat with, and where as I love history Bentley was always willing to indulge me with a story or two. God Bless you Bentley, you always had a smile on your face.

Bentley is so fondly remembered by all the Haynes girls, especially from our days down on Belleisle Bay. I'm sure Dad was tooting a car horn in heaven when Bentley arrived just to let him know he was there too !
